How do you apply Scrum Values in Daily Scrum?

Scrum Values VS Daily Scrum

Daily Scrum

Daily scrum is the event where the Scrum team inspects the progress towards the sprint goal and coordinates the work for the next 24 hours. To apply the Scrum values, you should commit to updating the team on your progress, have the courage to speak up about any issues or risks, focus on the sprint goal and product increment, be open to sharing your challenges and achievements with the team, and respect the timebox of 15 minutes. This practice will not only help you inform and coordinate with your team but also enable you to learn from each other and build trust within your team.

Scrum Values in Daily Scrum

  • Focus — Focus enables us to assess whether we are making progress toward our sprint goals.
  • Respect — Each team member’s assignment status is available to all, and their contribution to the sprint goal is valued.
  • Openness — It enables team members’ sharing of their accomplishments and challenges to the right stakeholders, increasing transparency.
  • Commitment — It shows daily participation, and updating individual progress enables us to gauge our progress toward sprint goals.
  • Courage — As team member’s honestly discuss their struggles, courage emerges, encouraging a culture of tracking and solving problems effectively. And as a team you have the courage to ask for help.
